![]() ![]() OK - onto the best question 3 from the community. Yes, I love this Deadpool case study as an example of how a community really rallied behind and helped the making of the film become a reality! It's something we're are looking forward to here in Mogul, for sure, as the platform launches and people can start to see some film projects they could vote on!Ĭan't wait! So many talented professionals already involved! And we are building the platform with Ethereum, because of Ethereum’s network effect. Blockchain communities can will the success of a project, just like Deadpool fans. The people told the studio what they wanted to see and how they wanted to see it.īlockchain is very good for security, building die-hard communities and financial transparency, efficiency, and automation in payments. There was a centralized entity (the studio) that was stopping the production of a film because they didn’t think an R-rated Marvel movie would work, but the fans pushed it forward. This was power of the crowd, decentralization, peer to peer community building and rallying behind a cause. Fans demanded the studio make it! And Mogul’s platform aims to give film fans a voice in the script-to-screen process too. Deadpool has become the highest grossing R-rated franchise in movie history but it wouldn’t have been made without comic fans loving a 'proof of concept' trailer leaked by actor Ryan Reynolds. Deadpool owes its success to the combined passion of actor, director and comic book fans for bringing the much-loved comic strip to life. Hearing the Deadpool story was the initial “wow” moment for us that sparked the idea for Mogul back in 2016. By doing this they created a dedicated community with the common goal of making the movie successful. It was a really immersive experience where we got all of this “insider” information and felt part of the process. They also talked business development and asked for access to specific people in our networks. But, one project we invested in at a script level stood out as special - they provided monthly updates, behind-the scenes photos and details of cast members under consideration. Projects that could be profitable aren’t because of these ‘martian’ accounting practices and bloated budgets. There is a major lack of transparency in the accounting and investing process. ![]() Validation for the idea (after hearing about the Deadpool story) came about because our founding team had invested in movie scripts before and often found that the experience of investing in a sscript wasn't very good. The Mogul story begins with our team hearing the story of Deadpool in 2016 when we originally wrote the first Mogul whitepaper. What caused you to create this unique cryptocurrency project? OK - another question from the community… Everyone is a movie fan and we want to hear your voiceĮxcellent - this idea of harnessing the "power of the crowd" through voting seems really central to Mogul's mission. With voting we really want everyone to have an opinion and be part of the power of the crowd. If you don't feel qualified to vote, you can assign your vote to a proxy. This will encourage more holders to vote. By staking your vote can earn more STARS. The winning film gets funded and goes into pre-production. Once a voting round is initialized, STARS holders will be able to stake and vote on which of 3 showcased movies they most want to see funded. We have a global team of experienced and award-winning producers, directors and financiers that review film proposals and the best will be showcased on the Mogul platform with details like a trailer, the cast, proposed budget and more. With features like quadratic voting we aim to give many global film fans their first opportunity to influence which new movies get made. Oh great question!! Mogul's platform governance is about harnessing the "Power of the Crowd". I've noticed that governance helps improve adoption in projects, what are your plans and thoughts on governance? So, shall we move straight to the 10 best questions posted by the community….? Thanks Lisa - this is seriously ambitious! The growing Advisory Team is something I've definitely noticed! Our common goal is to give a voice to film fans, who can vote and influence which movies get funded and made as Mogul productions! All using blockchain, smart contracts, and Web3 technologies. Over the last two years we've put together an amazing Advisory Team of producers, directors, actors and other film industry professionals to help. Of course! Mogul is bringing blockchain and DeFi to film! With Mogul’s decentralized finance model we really want to open up the film industry and make film funding and fan participation more transparent. OK - Lisa - first of all, please can you tell us a little about Mogul by way of an introduction? Just one extra thing before we start - guys - Please save any additional questions or comments until the end. ![]()
